Weller
Anchored by ringing guitars and equally vibrant vocals, Philadelphia's Weller is easy to compare to 90s college rock or any other sun-kissed genre format of that bygone era. However, the difference lies in this three-piece's command of millennial anxieties and awareness that eclipses the easy nostalgia marker. The band is gearing up to record their debut LP this summer after a year of steady touring and releases, to fully lock in their revived, yet refined take on a once-golden formula.
Kississippi
Kississippi began as a mystery, the band garnering quick Internet acclaim with the 2014 digital release of a collection of demos. At the time, little was known about the artist behind it all - Zoe Reynolds, a Philadelphia native following a childhood dream of pursuing music. Since then, Reynolds has stepped further into the spotlight, spending extensive time on the road with a varied live band that includes members of Fern Mayo, Who Loves You and Naps. The band brings to life Reynolds’s intimate and heartbreakingly gorgeous recordings, including the 2015 EP We Have No Future, We’re All Doomed and an upcoming full length, currently being recorded. Listen closely and the secrets of Kississippi are yours to discover.
Smokestack Relics
Smokestack Relics
Smokestack Relics can only be defined as a dirty swamp rock band. The two brothers sing about livin', lovin', dyin' and the hell down below. The band is stripped down to her bare essentials creating a raw roots feel. When they're not playing in Denver you may find them playing throughout the grand ol' South and Midwest, scrapin up enough cash to make it to the next show with coffee and cigarettes in hand.
